Following on from Don's story about how the McIndoe transfer came about (does someone want to retell this - can't remember his exact words), I decided to have a look what he is up to these days. He's a free agent but I noticed this article I hadn't read before. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...thousands-collapsed-scheme-linked-player.html Anyone know any more about this?
In the words of 'The Don': McIndoe turns up suited and booted - asks to see Shep and Don. They sit down. 'Michael McIndoe has the opportunity to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Michael McIndoe will take that opportunity' 'But Michael, you're not for sale. Your release clause doesn't kick in until you've been here 12 months' 'Michael McIndoe will join Wolverhampton - if he doesn't, he will go on strike and never play for Barnsley again'. I'd have let him go for nowt just for talking in the third person. The lovely person.
Met him when he was a Donny player, he was seeing a friend of an old girlfriend and bumped into him at a few parties. If you know all about the problems he was having at Donny then you'll understand the type of person he is. I'll stop there due to legal reasons.
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? Contracts mean nothing in football. A footballer is the product and the decision maker along with a agent. IT always makes me laugh when people talk about contracts like they are this amazing thing, they aren't. IF a player says BYE BYE to the club he could be under contract until 2020.
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? No one disagrees, the point is that if you have a long contract the club has a better bargaining position.
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? Do they? Would it have mattered if Mcindoe and other players at other clubs had a 5 year deal. If you say your on strike the club can only take it 2 takes. court or sell you cheap.
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? Using that logic, why don't all players get sold for £500k?
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? How long was Rooneys contract? other year when eh decided enough was enough???
Re: And who told Wolves about the clause in his contract? after reading the daily-mail article, Mcindoe will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life, what a ****** he really is playing the BIG I am card. If I was the chairman his arse would have been airborne until it hit his car.
I would have let him go on strike. Surely if he withdrew his services by striking then he would not be entitled to any pay. As he would still be under contract there would be no way he could have played his football elsewhere.
