    I'd love to see a poll from league managers asking who would you rather have in your team, Darren Bent, Lanky Crouch, Cantscore Cole or Michael Owen. Totally agree Owen is not at his best, but seriously Owen not quite at his peak is better than Cole n Bent. Fabio Capello must have some kinda grudge against him.

    Owen's only just come back from injury so isn't fit to be in the squad anyway. But ye i agree, with his international record there is no way if match fit he should be left out

    owens our best bet for goals by miles when hes fit, but thats the problem.

    He's played 20 minutes first team football recently

    If he was anything like fit he should play but I dont think he really is an option for Wednesday

    Just a real shame he is so injury prone - when fit he is one of our proper world class players

    When fit he's got to go to the world cup even if he's only a impact sub. Pace might leave you but quality does'nt.Top player in the wrong team IMO.

    Capello constantly dropped owen and woodgate at Real Madrid, so like in original post, maybe its a grudge.
