Very true, we were all surprised it was Huddersfield he ended up going to. However, least he'd have a small chance of it, unlike if he had stayed here
Hehehe, serves him right!. But at least he can count his higher relegation bound wages at home, while his country plays in the biggest tournament in the World lol.
Strange view. He was brilliant for us and was a total pro throughout. He wanted to better himself and got that opportunity. Why would you begrudge him that? Have you never left an employer?
Can I just say I've seen Helik playing for Poland and he was continually shunned by his team mates, gave a penalty away and was subbed.
What a petty and childish view. I wish him no ill will, I’d love him back at Oakwell. He’s better than anything we have now, Mads included. He made it clear that he wanted to leave and why, and it didn’t work out. That’s a shame. Not a laughing matter.
I believe he was overrated by Barnsley fans and looked better due to his great partnership with Andersen but also stood out due to the piss poor other players he was playing with and looked like a big fish in a small pond. I think he does certain things very well but is limited in his skill set. I'm not saying he's a poor player I just don't think he is quite as an amazing player as he's often made out to be. However as far as I'm aware he was a model professional at Oakwell who gave his all in every game. I can't remember him downing tools once or giving up on a game and that's all I ask from a Barnsley player. Work as hard as you can and don't be a dick. My heart goes out to him. To go from regularly playing for your country to missing out on a place in the world cup squad must be absolutely heartbreaking and I just hope he can turn his luck around a little in the next 2 years and get into the euro squad for them and maybe even have another crack at the world cup in 4 years time. Anyone wishing him anything but the best has got something wrong with them. We've had a lot worse players at the club, we've had far lazier players at the club and we've had players demand a move for much poorer reasons before. If everyone was as professional as helik was last year then perhaps we wouldn't currently be in league 1.
He was a regular part of our defence where we had our second highest league position this century. Surely he deserves credit for that ? He must be distraught to miss out on the World Cup and I, like most Reds, wish him well
I never understood him picking huddersfield. I thought if he had aspirations of making the biggest tournament in world football he needed better than huddersfield as he needed better than us in league 1. Thought he was smart while he was here though.
Hasn’t he recently got married ? and someone told me he wanted to stay around this area. He also had the option of going back to Poland but declined so one presumes that his bride wished to stay here as well.
He is always getting 8 ratings in the Huddersfield Examiner match reports by Steven Chicken. Even if they lose and other defenders get 6s he still gets 8s. He's doing very well at Huddersfield but one man can't make a team good.
He can only go to a club if theyve put an acceptable bid in though. Same for Morris. If it's money we're after, and they're the clubs what have bid, so be it. I wish them both the absolute best
