How do you write a number "to the power of" another one?

So if it were 2 to the power 7, the 7 would be smaller in the top right hand corner ..?

    I'm getting annoyed!

You need to select subscript / superscript... one of the two... then adjust the font size..

    I'm pretty sure.

You have to use the equation editor within Word, and the shortcut is CTRL+H.
