According to The Star article I've just read online. Can't post links on my phone, sorry. It also states that only Sir Bobby is paid more than him. Make of this what you will. Either The Star are wrong, or Keith Hill is. He said Luke Steele was our top earner... So that's Mido (termination), Steele (club won't negotiate new deal) and Bobby (frozen out) all likely to be gone soon. Plenty of wages to play with, and to fritter away on 10 Wiseman's of this world.
"docked 2 weeks wages, believed to be 8k" reads to me that he's on 4k a week. Either way, it's a shitload of wasted money, by Keith.
I'm sure Mido probably pays BFC £4K a week, just so he can claim to be a professional footballer on his CV.
Sorry mate, my bad. I don't think 4k's bad considering the type of player we could've been getting. Risk like I said but still worth taking. Very surprised if only Bobby Hassel is on more than 4k, too....
Expensive gamble though. Similar to the O'Connor loan under Robins, only he actually played a bit and scored.
Fecking hell now l am gunna smash my keyboard, ******* mental if we were paying him that. I think most folk on here including myself predicted his contract would be terminated, not a cat in hells chance of him getting Championship fit. I think l predicted January though.
I thought it was mentioned in the summer that Luke Steele is the highest paid player at the club? Considering what some players are getting paid these days, £4k sounds like peanuts.
Reckon O'Connor would have been on a lot more than £4k a week. But you're right, at least we did get one performance from him.
Just had a chat with a Leicester fan who's a mate of mine and they said there top earner was Beckford. They don't know the precise figure but its assumed to be around the £35k a week mark. Puts our budget into very stark perspective.
No, I've always said that GOC was financed outside budget and the only difference between the two is that PC now no longer is in a postion to offer this support...
I seem to recall O'Connor and Harewood being the two mentioned, not just O'Connor. Might just be me sithi.
Gary O'Connor was not a loan signing. He was given a contract until then end of that season, when the club and the player would re-evaluate the situation. His reputed wages at Birmingham had nothing to do with it, they had released him. His contract was terminated early after his absence through 'illness'. Pissed all the time more like.
