"Barnsley boss Keith Hill says Mido could have ruptured hamstring. Adding could be out for anything from 6 to 21 weeks. Full int coming up." From Andy Giddings on Twitter
Really bad news For the lad and the team. I wonder whether we'll now go in for another striker, or two, before the start of the season?
Re: Really bad news I think so Kev. Think we would have brought another striker in anyway. Probably need 2 now. I'd like 1 permanent and maybe a loan.
We may never see him play If Keith is right, it will take him that long to get over his injury, but how long will it take him to regain match fitness? In the Chronicle this week Keith stated that Mido is well behind the rest of the squad in terms of fitness and with him now being out injured his fitness is going to slip even further. It will take him months after getting over his injury to regain match fitness. Very disappointing after what was a really exciting signing.
Re: That's a good call, mate We'll be able to get a striker in now, very much doubt Mido will be able to get fit enough for the Championship, stop pissing about with a lost cause and terminate his contract. I was optimistic when we signed him but after seeing how big he was at Rotherham l thought it was a desperate signing. Although its not costing much and not much of a risky signing it's still a wage.
"stupid barnsley, fookin typical, why did they only offer a 1 year contract. Small club, get some real directors in" blah blah blah richard kell
Re: We may never see him play What's wrong with Lee Barnard? He was scoring goals for fun a couple of years ago, nothing to say he can't hit that form again
Re: We may never see him play Awful news, obviously bad for him but horrendous for us too, very very unlucky for the club. He was a massive gamble but one that could come off very well, whilst we were never going to lose out on much apart from a small wage. Not only are we down to one established senior forward now, but we are also without that bit of intrigue and excitement that Mido brought. I never pinned much hope on him, but at least he offered a bit of hope.
Re: That's a good call, mate It was touch and go to be fit for start of season, which i find amazing with Professional footballers. If its 21 weeks it could be 30 before hes fit. Thats April then! Draw a line under it and get someone else!
