When it came to clinching a deal, however, Barnsley backed out and that has left Flynn fuming. "When Richard went on trial to Gillingham a few weeks ago I said it would be the last time I would let him go to a club on that basis," said Flynn. "The only reason I allowed him to go to Barnsley was that they had agreed to our financial package and wanted to have a closer look at him before completing the move. "It turns out that wasn't the case and the club, myself and Richard have been messed around. "There were a couple of things that happened when he was there last week that Richard and I weren't happy with and I didn't want him to go back on Monday after he'd come home to play for us at the weekend. "He decided to go because he didn't want to miss out on the chance of a move. "I have learnt from this, as have the club and unless someone comes in with the kind of offer we would find acceptable, Richard won't be going anywhere else."
