But Cooper looks the business in goal, Watson gave an absolute masterclass at right back, Earl had his best game in the shirt and Shepherd, despite a couple of poor decisions, was an absolute animal. Bland and Connell looked one hell of a pairing in midfield and Phillips linked up well with the forwards. DKD scored twice and I've not seen a replay of the third. Vickers, my MotM most games this season was his usual skilful, industrious self and yet didn't make my top 5 today. McGoldrick put a great shift in and although he fluffed his lines with the chance of the match, terrifies defences week in, week out. MDG, Roberts and Russell were involved almost every match last season but only MDG as a late sub today. Yoganathan and Kelly look to have a big part to play this season. Cleary looks a monster but didn't make an appearance today and Barrett has made good progress. A couple of sound acquisitions before the window closes and we're on the brink of something special.
Watson and Shepherd were my MoMs today, looked really solid (as long as they cut out the silly little mistakes). We even saw Watson go forward and overlap at one point!
Watson shaded it fot my MotM. Ogbeta the jury is out on for me. Overlapping requires an end product and without that it's desertion of post. Watson stuck to task and defended competently and, more importantly, relentlessly all game. Stole my heart, if not the headlines with today's display.
Ogbeta got one assist mate and also assisted DKD for the one that was ruled out for offside I think he looks the business
Think he has a good cross on him, will probably get more assists if DKD is in the box more like today of McGoldrick
Like I say, I'm not convinced yet. He got an assist at both ends, put in some good crosses and some bad ones and a lot of Huddersfield's limited joy seemed to come down their right. I agree there's a player in there but I fear he might fall into the Clarke Oduor mould of being a wide player who is neither defender nor attacker. I'd love to be proved wrong.
Top performances by many players today. I think before DKD got his second, I think any from 4 or 5 could have had MOM today.
Can't fault Conor's man management as regards to motivation! 2 derby wins after a bad loss last week. Brilliant
Cooper is incredible, what a keeper we have. I still struggle to see that some fans don’t rate this guy.
I think he would have to have brought the Stevenage defense with him as well to get anywhere near that..
It's not black or white is it.. young players, they do well, they have poor games and drop clangers. Trouble is when your a keeper or a defender it normally costs a goal. Keepers are normally more consistent later in their career that's why they cost more. Don't be fooled we play young players because they're cheaper we are not reinventing the wheel. One thing about Cooper though..his agility is as good as any keeper lve seen at Oakwell.
Yeah it's very positive, the football were playing is a massive improvement from what we saw under Collins and Clarke. The fitness of the players has been massively improved imo. There's young players breaking into the team I think have a great future in Bland and vimal. I'm really enjoying this season so far just hope we can keep dkd and add a striker before the window ends.
I think he’s played left back all his career. He’s just been asked by Hourihane to go forward more & be the extra man in possession. It’s weird because I feel like there should be a massive hole there but it’s not really cost us in the league where as when Farrugia was asked to play the same role in the first half on Tuesday we looked a mess.
Totally agree and we were just saying so in ground when foooked up ha......we must have put speck on it!
It was the right thing to do Killing the game but when you make so many passes around the defence and back to the keeper your one bad pass away from that happening
