From what I've seen the first choice team would possibly survive, but I doubt the squad is strong enough. In my opinion getting promoted this year would not be a good thing. Go up too soon and we'd be immediately back to short termism and constantly plugging holes in order to survive one season to the next. IMHO going up in 2015-16 would be much better in the long run. Keeping the team together for that long is imperative.

I agree. we need more youngsters to become good at this level for more depth so it saves on budget for more quality players. That said, what position would we want for promotion? I'd say wingers, Jennings needs to book his ideas up if he wants to reach his potential. Wingers will be key in the Champ

It's difficult for me to comment with great authority as I only have TV highlights to go on, but defence would still be a worry for me. Ramage is at the tail end of his career and Nyatanga isn't quite Championship quality sadly. The finishing is so clinical in the Championship these days that I think we'd find ourselves on the wrong end of thumpings in reasonably even games. I remember the main difference when we were in the Premier League was the finishing.

Any team that had the pace of Devante Cole against us would have a field day, and we'd get overrun in midfield - that's IF the side as it is now was plonked into The Championship. After the rest of this season/next, who know how we'd develop ?

Is that all? I was convinced that he's 33-34. Seems to have been around forever.
