Just reading comments...did some people honestly think he played badly today? Seriously? If so, no wonder hes not settling down. People seem to expect miracles. He linked up play, was far better in the air than his strike partner whos a foot taller, fizzed a left foot shot just wide, a header just wide, worked his b*llocks off, and put his body on the line to retrieve Howard's awful corner, thus creating the equalising goal. Yes, he didn't score, but his all round game today was very promising from where I saw it.
I thought he did well mate. Cant understand the comments on here sometimes. But that's what football is all about - opinions. Even if they are worthless ;-) I too though thought Kayode did just fine today as well.
I thought Odejayi had a much better game - thought he hid a little bit in the first half but got stronger as it went on.
Played Better Than Disco And JCR I thought he looked lively and eager to impress. If he plays like that in the future, I won't be worried. Cracking effort at goal in the first half as well. Shame it wasn't on target.
RE: Played Better Than Disco And JCR I'd Start with Mossto and Coulson upfront next game they both look decent footballers it could work.
Looked a class player today Did everything but score. I was highly impressed with him, looked like he has a big future. Had to move my seat (see my other post) because of a complete ****** who I would have finished up chucking over the edge into the lower tier. Why some people expect players to give their all for the club when they just abuse them is beyond me. **** off home and let the true fans enjoy the game. KO did well too, by the way.
Mostto was decent today. Put himself about a bit, had a couple of decent shots and his overall link up play was good. Midfield was shocking today. Couldnt string 3 passes together at one stage, and then you have Howard complaining when he passes it wrong.
Kayode played well today, when he turns and runs at defenders he will be dangerous to any team! And he won everything coming his way in the air, sometimes i think some people on here watch a different game to me.
Just my opinion cant fault his effort at times, but I just dont think he's as good as we were hoping he'd be. to get caught offside when put through by Howard in the first half was criminal. Basic strikers instinct doesnt seem to be there. He looks like a fish out of water 90% of the time, and the other 10% he's getting in the way. I hope Im wrong, but I dont see him contributing enough this season. Or any season. I'd rather see Davey persevere with Coulson than him. Then again, I'd rather Davey get Macken back and Stan fit.
An opinion I agree with Did Odejayi actually have a single attempt on goal during the whole match? I cant remember 1, but I may have missed it. He never looks like he will threaten the opponents goal, Mostto was better the KO , but still looks a lightwieght.
RE: Just my opinion Couldn't disagree more. Mostto played well, he created chances held the ball up well, was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions. Ok in the first half the off side decision was wrong, i was sat dead in line and Mostto was just onside. This was is first full game for a while and i thought he deserved MOTM. A workman like performance, never stopped running ,showed great skill at times. Well done Mostto, keep that performance up and surely the goals will come (clap)
i dont think some people go to the same game mostos link up play was very good today found space and then howard would **** it up ran his blood to water and was fecked at the end but could that be down to lack of 1st team football
Held the ball up? he held the game up a few times by chelping to the ref and laying on the floor for a bit. he had a complete view of the entire pitch when Howard put him through, with the last defender running away from him. it shouldnt even have been marginal. any striker will tell you that to be offside from there is unforgiveable. Howard's reaction said it all. Schoolboy stuff. I was one of these arguing that its not been his type of game yet, or that the conditions havent helped him, but that was him on the shoulder of the last defender with a chance of a one on one. Deep intake of breath - Nardiello wouldve been onside for that. And scored.
Remember though Odejayi was asked to play the role Stan normally plays today, battling for stuff in the air and I think he did ok. He's totally lacking confidence, understandable I'd say, but I saw signs from him that he can contribute to the team winning a game. If you were to ask Jackson and Evatt after the game which of our strikers were harder to mark and play against, neither would say Mostto. FACT.
Mate, trust me. I was sat dead in line, he wasn't even close to offside. The linesman hadn't kept up with play and purely and simply guessed. Onside, comfortably. He was level with Howard for a start.
