    Luton manager Mike Newell criticised assistant referee Amy Rayner after his side's 3-2 defeat by QPR and said women should not be allowed to officiate. "She should not be here. I know that sounds sexist, but I am sexist. If you start bringing in women you have big problems. This is not park football, so what are women doing here? It's tokenism for the politically correct idiots." (Various)

    In full knowledge that I'll get slated as being PC . . .

    . . . if she's not up to the job she shouldn't be officiating. But to get from that to the suggestion that women should not officiate is clearly ridiculous. I'm not up to the job of officiating at a match but that doesn't mean that men shouldn't do the job.

    If she is poor as an assistant referee then that is one thing, but nowt to do with her being a woman - unless her tits bounce in her face when she's running in her high heels!
