Mike Sheron has been appointed as Bury's new youth team manager after Chris Beech resigned from the position.
Centre of excellence boss Sheron takes over a team which finished secondin their league last season and includes a number offirst-team prospects.
Beech had been in charge of the Shakers youngsters since Chris Casper (pictured) took charge of the first-team in October 2005.
He has now decided to step down and Bury have wasted little time in replacing him with former Manchester City and Barnsley striker Sheron.

Here we go again The rip into Mike Sheron thread! A decent player, worked the line well, and one of the hardest working forwards I've seen at Oakwell....the reason why Dyer got many of his goals because Sheron used to pull defenders all over the place.
Has someone poked you in the eye... whilst watching every other striker then?
Hardest working, hahahah. You really are one funny guy. Seen more work in a junior asprin.

It's all about opinions And I feel that Sheron is a much maligned player who was far better than most people on here give him credit for - unfortunately too many people cannot see beyond the goals scored column when it comes to forwards.....his play along the defensive line was excellent
RE: You're right, it's all about opinions No, my opinion is right in that it is my opinion! An opinion cannot be wrong - because it is an opinion!
RE: Here we go again With you on this one and all others who say you are wrong are *******. Mindst you we are only talking opinions and I'd back mine against anyones but I wasn't the one to start hurling abuse. The majority are not always right - que Germany and the 1930's.
don't think so! He may well have been a good player but he didn't do it for us - one purple patch - even nardi has had more than that
I was also a fan of Mr Sheron I know that puts me in a minority but there you go. I was also a fan of Martin Bullock. And Nicky Eaden. In fact I would go so far as to say our demise was due partly to Nicky's departure. So there.
I agree certainly one of the most talented players we ever had.
Most people on here though cant distinguish between value for money and whether he was any good or not.
Got a goal every 5appearances ( while playing a fair few games in midfield) and created a fair number for Dyer.
Unfortunately for themyopic on hereall they can remember are his reputed wages and his fee.

Nah, not for me. Not a chance. The money he was pinching was probably around 3 times what Nardi is taking too - maybe more. I'd have Nardi over him anytime.
You are just focussing on the money though Which is a separate issue. It wasn't Sheron's fault how much we paid for him, which was basically what we were paying for players around that time, and the salary was in line with other players.
Yes mate, you are probably right. It always did cloud my judgement of how much I disliked the guy. When he first came he did look real quality, i'll be honest. But it was the lack of effort he put in, whilst raking all that money in made me sick. I'd still have Nardi though over him. He cant have been all that great anyway, because when he left us, surely he would have gone places better than Blackpool and Macclesfield?
Didn't Bassett say soemthing about him not being able to hit a barn door with a banjo? Obviously didn't inspire the manager too much with his finishing then.
Probably too 'smart' for Dyer at times which made excellent through balls look ***** as Dyer couldn't read them.
