I was driving down towards Stairfoot for the first time in a few months the other day and noticed that the former pub, the Mill of the Black Monk had been turned into an Italian restaurant named Bocelli's. From the outset, it looked quite nice. Has anyone been since the changeover? Would you recommend it? What are the prices like? The service? Cheers in advance. Poet
Yes open now. Been there in the past and gave it a try last week with the family. While always a beautiful place and one of most historic in region, far better now than ever before. With little touches that bring out more of its character and very very friendly with beautiful food at a fair price and now with a roaring fire downstairs. And while never particularly child friendly in the past, the grandkids loved it, especially as the lower floor is now an ice cream parlour. And especially with an endless variety of Italian ice creams. And been there since with my wife and remembered and greeted by Dino the new owner and that never happened before. Terrific.
Re: you probably pulled a mussel I'd rather pull Kylie Minnow or Skate Moss, but knowing me I'd probably end up getting beaten up by Billy the Squid.
