My Dad says it looks like Millwall will be on the same train as us on Saturday from London to Liverpool. Has anyone ever got the train with Millwall fans and if so what was it like?

It can be an absolute nightmare

Did it a couple of years ago heading back to london from a game. 200 milwall at the front 150 Brighton at the back 10 london tykes in the middle surrounding by British transport police. Got to St p's and it all kicked off in the concourse with forest and Milwall in a pre arranged meet. generally speaking just keep yourself to yourself and no worries. I also dont think thee will be that many Milwall on Saturday. They arent doing that well currently and there away support is suffering

What train you on? Come sit with us london tykess if you are on our train. Actually I am not there but a lot of the others will be. I am sure Harrow will reply to this post soon

Always remember..........Football Hooliganism - Numbers Count

If there are loads of TARN fans on the train and only a few Millwall then the Millwall fans will not bother
And the TARN fans generally wont bother............but

The worst battles are when there is like for like..........how can I explain this.......take two stags in a field. If one stag is massive and the other is a younger smaller version there wont be a battle as the smaller stag will stay out of the way.
Now if there are two stags of similar stature then this is when there is likely to be a battle.

There is also the situation of trophy hunting.........if there is a stag that has been involved in a few encounters that has been reported in the media (the media is actually the driver of football hooliganism) then other stags often search them out to see how good they will fair against them

And thats basically what football hooliganism is all about............stags in a field

So at a quess...............loads of Barnsley fans..........only a few Millwall..........result = Barnsley fans are much more likely to cause the problems

    So what your saying is.........

...the two stags I saw at Lotherton Hall last Sunday could have been Millwalls top boy and someone from the Leeds service crew?

There's also the fact that throughout the past 30-odd years Millwall have never adhered to the 'numbers game'.

    Millwall fans

When we used to have the old supporters club team we regularly played against Millwall. I have to say they were a cracking set of lads and although the games were always physical they looked after us in the pub afterwards and even got us free tickets when we played at the Den. I wouldnt tar them all with the same brush.

    RE: Millwall fans

I agree...... I can well recall, also, after the 4-1 defeat at the old Den when the club sent a load of free kebabs round for the Barnsly supporters that were being detained inside the ground. I think i played for the Supporter's Club at Millwall on that very ame day mentioned (went down in a minibus if memory serves me right?) and we lost 2-0. The year before the Supporter's Club had won the League or summat?

****ALL**** supporters adhere to the numbers game

I've seen Millwall fans run like rabbits when they are out numbered
For evidence try YouTube..............West Ham at Millwall
Yer can hear a copper saying something like West Ham are in Millwalls Manor and they are no where to be seen
Why? cos the Millwall were all stood in the boozers bricking it

I have also been there when West Ham crew ran onto the Shed.........West Ham lost

Why has Leeds got a bad name..............one to one they are poor and scarper when all things are equal...............they have got a bad name over the years because simply there are so many of them

With regards to that Millwall sketch and 500 ICF on their manor, i have it on good authority that Millwall were drinking elsewhere when the West Ham 'bods' traipsed along New Cross Road and then down Ilderton Road. No group is invincible, by all means, but i've seen some proper nutjacks attempting to 'take' the Kop at Hillsborough 30-handed

On the subject of Leeds i can well recall seeing their Service Crew scarper up Belgrave Road when confronted by an equal amount of Barnsley lads (82/83 i think?). :D

What abart Boro trying to take the Ponty End in the early 80s

Wrong choice! Can still remember one of them running across the pitch with an alsatian hanging off his jeans.

RE: who are you then mate?

I'd grown a tash for a bet through the summer and on the return trip i was absolutely slaughtered about it's presence. Untold songs etc: "She wore blue Poldarks!" - does that strike a chord?..... I only played about ten games for the Supporter's Club (mostly as sub), and i think the Millwall game was my last appearance.

Remember it well.......... Wasn't there a slogan that asked "Is this Your Son?"....... one of the lads on the pic, ironically, had a mother that worked at the Barnsley Chronicle :pff
