Its a game of four halves - for once (title) Both teams were more than happy for the referee's decision to make it a match of four 25 minute quarters, allowing much needed extended drinks breaks. In searing heat, the League One side opened the scoring on the break through Daniel Nardiello, who struck a fierce 18-yard shot over Bideford goalkeeper Ryan Draper after receiving a through ball from Antony (sp) Kay. The Western League side responded well and replied through a terrific volley from Ellis Laight, his second goal in two games. After a scoreless second period, Robbie Williams restored the Yorkshire team's lead in the third with a 20 yard volley. Nicky Wroe set up Nathan Joynes for their third goal, with Barnsley's final goal a replica of the previous. Neil Austin supplied Paul Hayes who flicked the ball over Griffiths. "Bideford were a fit side" said Barnsley assistant manager Rick Holden. "They made us work." It was also a good run-out for Bideford who lost 2-1 to Brentford on Tuesday. "We died in the last period," said their boss Sean Joyce.
