Why is it that if you don't wear tinsle round your head or a silly bleeding santa hat people accuse you of 'bah hambug'? Or people think you are a misery if you refuse to talk excitedly about the xmas 'do's your going to and that you now only have 'Uncle Tom Cobbly's present to buy to complete all your Christmas shopping? The Retail Industry must really be pissing themselves all the way to the Bank on the back of the folly of the masses. The folk who are forever banging the drum about xmas (kids excluded) must have very sad lives for the remaining 51 years of the year. In fact the level headed ones who take it all in their stride quietely are surely the ones who in reality do have a life and are far from 'miserable'. ..................only 4 days to go!! (Fackin hell cant wait, not!)
And the ones who do accuse people of "bah humbug" etc generally seem to be those who don't celebrate the Christian meaning of the festival anyway.
I'm really glad that.... .....level headed people, with fulfilled lives, take time out their busy schedule to let us know about their views on people enthusiastically embracing Christmas. It's given me a real insight into how I should be living my life.
It was dead good of him wasn't it. I think I'll go and burn the christmas tree down and smash up all the presents I've bought.
it's not the not wearing "bleeding sillly santa hats".....
....it's the sneering at people who do.

RE: It was dead good of him wasn't it. Which just proves my point!! Say anything remotely out of turn about this commercialised humdrum time of year and people start being sarcastic with you and wanting you to 'cheer up' . FFS grow up please - and the point someone made about it's usually the people who celebrate it from a commercial point of viww - rather than the Christian side of it - tend to be the ones telling us to 'cheer up'. Raw nerves being hit on this one. On a similar theme anyone care to epxlain what 'feeling Chritsmassy ' actually means? (Other than an excuse to get wrecked and self indulge)
If people wish to wear Santa hats let them. In addition to this if they choose to spend money they haven't got and hammer the credit card buying meaningless gifts for people they don't really like, again that's up to them.
I like Christmas Day... Classic FM 30 greatest Carols whilst cooking... me Angie and kids eating and drinking from approx 3.30 to Dr Who time. Up on boxing day for the match.
Kids are now 18 & 20 so there's not the same ' sparkle' as there was when they were young uns but I like the relaxation of one day when I'm not going to be called bymy office as no buggers there !!

DiscoTyke i love you I'm always out having a good time with all my mates when other people i work with rarely go out and enjoy themselves, but when i refuse to go on the works xmas do i get called a miserable tw@t. I don't go on the works do cos i don't want to socialise with people i work with, they bore me all week without spending my social time with em.
I was miserable - then i donned my Santa hat and was fine until... ... some twot from the Isle of Wight came and beat me up.
RE: If people wish to wear Santa hats let them. I do the Classic FM top Christmas carols as well whilst cooking dinner, guaranteed to get me crying when they play "Unto us a child is born" from Handel's Messiah as it was a favourite of my mums.
Am I miserable ? Just had 2,13/14yr olds rang the front doorbell , when I went to the door they said " would you like us to sing a carol for you " Said Yes but a bit nearer to Christmas....does that make me a miserable sod ?....... and is this a new method, ....general tack is sing first then ring the bell
