Sporting director who oversaw the sacking of a manager in the play-off positions and pretty much ended all chances of promotion. And has now put together the most unbalanced squad I have ever seen. Get him out. What we do with the head coach is neither here nor there while this man is running the show. Today we didn't have a striker or a midfielder who can put in a tackle. Not a single one available. We've only one of each at the club. How is it possible to have done that?
New owners & sacking Sormaz need to be top of the list. Sacking Clarke is neither here nor there. The season is over for us, we should be safe from relegation, but play offs 110% out of the question. No point wasting any more money by sacking Clarke at this stage.
Maybe one or two should be clearing their desks as they leave Oakwell tonight. Are we up for sale yet?
Flatman out. Any 'CEO' who signs off these recruits is just as culpable as the pillock identifying them. I repeat. Flatman out
Clarke needs to go too as bad as the players are he is as bad no tactical awareness doesn't react when his opposite number makes changes hasn't improved one player at the club in 9 months. He's just another one of the DoFs **** ups and needs to be shown the door with him.
Should never have been appointed in the first place. Absolutely shocking appointment. I struggle to think of anything positive he has done whilst he's been in the role. He is totally out of his depth and has been promoted over his abilities.
Been saying it for months and months, he's responsible for implementing a playing style throughout the club, that we can't play with this group. Recruitment is geared up to this style, we're looking at Data to fit this model but being done at the lower end, we no longer look to recruit players that can be developed, push us forward and then be sold, it's all about players that fit into his philosophy, possesion based football building from the back. As others have said change the head coach, who is poor, but they'll just recruit someone who's prepared to work under the same model. Our home form since Mladen’s appointment is appalling, it's not coincidental whatsoever. He sacked Collins on game 45 because he felt Collins couldn't play the way he wanted (article in chronicle in May). If the bottom 4 weren't so poor I'd be worried right now. Time to end the Mladenball experiment, they've got it wrong, fix it now whilst what's left of this season is a dead rubber.
Do you understand the structure properly? John Flatman heads up everything finance based, he's trying to drive turnover and revenue increases from sponsorship, hence him talking all things finance and very little football, the whole reason we brought in a Sporting Director was to separate the 2 roles as it was too much for a CEO to do effectively. Mladen Sormaz has sole autonomy on everything football wise including recruitment, data, playing style and linking that in with the Academy (Bobby hassell). He works to a financial structure set out by the board and gets final sign off on players, listen to his 10 min interview around the Jan window talking about getting all the negotiations done early making the sign off process from Nareev easier. Sorry but it's not on Flatman for the product that we've just watched
Respectfully, the culture at the club is negative, borderline toxic. Is that on Mladan? Blame Sormaz for ultimate signings disasters by all means. But the rest? It's not all down to a missing in action 'board'
You've gone off topic there from talking about John Flatman signing off deals to negativity about the place, which is obvious as we're playing sh**t, a big proportion of the negativity is connected to results, recruitment and what's happening on the grass, I can't remember the last time anybody starting feeling mega negative because we've agreed a new sponsorship deal etc. What's happening out there on the grass is Mladenball
No, but the toxic atmosphere around the whole club at the moment and the general malaise is very much on his watch. Staff departures, puzzling appointments, Oakwell on its arse. He's right in the firing line for me.
No point in changing the head coach if those at the top stay in charge and Malden keeps his role. Sweeping changes are needed at Jokewell.
