Mmmh...... just thinking about our midfield and lack of depth. I may have a solution.

With Howard gone and Anderson suspended it makes you realise just how little strength in depth we have.

I feel we need someone who can play a bit but can also put in a few tackles if needed....... a player who instantly comes to mind and is avalable is Quinton Fortune. He was recently on trial at Bramall Lane, but they instead opted to sign Brian Howard.
Provding he's fit I certainly think about offering him a short term deal, maybe even until xmas. He's be quality signing and could go straight into central midfield with Colace. He can also play left midfield and left back.

Perhaps he's the missing piece in the jigsaw!

Am I right in thinking we can still sign out of contract players?

 

yeah can still sign out of contract players, could be a decent shout, offer him pay as you play or as you say short term deal, cant be a bad deal for both parties

Johnson won't get near the first team squad. Infact, when was last time he played for the reserves?
