I have never taken performance enhancing drugs in my life and I never will. Over the course of my career I have taken hundreds of drugs tests and every single one has been negative. I’ve fully explained the only two tests in my career that I have ever missed, which the authorities understood, and there was never any suggestion that these were anything more than simple mistakes. The last two weeks have been the toughest of my life – with rumours and speculation about me that are completely false – and the impact this has had on my family and friends has left me angry, frustrated and upset. In particular, the media pressure on my young family and my wife, who is 5 months pregnant, is extremely painful, especially as I’m away training for some important races. As I made clear, I went to Portland to speak to Alberto Salazar and demand answers. He reassured me that the claims are false and that he will soon be providing evidence to make that clear. Until then I will not be commenting further on the allegations. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fans, family, friends and teammates for all the great support they have provided over the last few days and hope that I will now be allowed to focus on my training and winning medals for my country.
I am going yo wait until I hear what Dreamy has to say before i make up my mind about the black, African, based in USA , Brit ! sent from little boat chippy
I reckon he's had an amazing life. If he can refer to this situation as the toughest of his life then he's done well to never have been more affected by the likes of a death or an illness within his friends/family. He's one lucky guy.
Aye, must be a piece of piss having everything you've achieved, everything that's made you who you are, doubted and questioned.
Won't be easy for him at all. Even if he's never ever done anything wrong some people will still think no smoke without fire and that's not fair on him. But still i'd say deaths and illnesses are worse.
The problem is that with athletics when an athlete misses a drugs test then there is almost instant suspicion. That's not Mo's fault but there are so many cheats it is always going to raise an eyebrow or two when this happens.
Ohh, i didn't realise that. Huge apologies Mark. I must admit, I thought it was a very odd and out of character thing for you to say...
I take it you did not read Dreamy`s post when all this kicked off a couple of weeks ago ? If you had , you would have seen that my post was a sarcastic post aimed at his childishness. edited to add , just seen your later post, no probs.
Yeah, i never saw his earlier post. It looked like you were insinuating that drug taking was related to his skin colour or something, which is why i reacted like I did. Sarcasm and text dont always come across how they should, unfortunately
Hired a very expensive pr company this week. Said the other week he needed to speak to his coach to find the truth of the matter yet Panorama had already sent him and Salazar a list of questions some time before the programme aired. Nothing surprises me when it comes to drugs in sport. Especially after seeing the Panorama programme get away with micro dosing EPO so easily.
If you speak to anyone that knows anything about athletics about Salazar, it's quite simple you don't train with him unless you're doping. It's a bit like using Michele Ferrari if you're a cyclist. No sympathy at all for Farah, the jumps in performance he had after joining Salazar are either the results of a miracle or doping. Mental that the BBC are so interested in the story now & not 3 years ago when there were loads of rumours about Farah, Rupp & Salazar on the Internet, probably because it'd ruin the London Olympics image.
I hope he didn't dope, but honestly it's so easy that I'm suspicious of anyone who wins anything. It's not nice to say but that's the way it is. God knows what would have come out if the Operacion Puerto blood bags hadn't been destroyed, I reckon pretty much all of Spanish sport would have been implicated. I wonder to what extent Usain Bolt dopes. It seems difficult to believe that in an event so rife with doping he could set the times he has done naturally.
No because I don't care about athletics enough to start a thread on here about it & there was no threads about it on here. I'm big into cycling though & Farah's relationship with Salazar was getting talked about back then on forums. The media in general are *****s when it comes to doping. Look at cycling, David Walsh plays the hero for 'downing Lance Armstrong' but doesn't say anything about Chris Froome's super human transformation as he got the job of writing his autobiography.
