My daughter signed up to a mobile internet deal with free laptop on the TMobile network from the carphone warehouse. It turns out that TMobiles coverage in her area isn't strong enough for house use (I've checked this on TMobiles site). She is now stuck in a 24 month contract paying £30 per month for a service that is painfully slow and dropping all the time . Should the shop have checked her coverage before selling her the product?

She should have a cooling off period of at least 7-14 days when taking out such a contract.

Check this out in the agreement.

even if she out of the cooling off period she has rights.

If shes paying for a service and cannot recieve it then she should be able to cancel it, but she might have to hand the laptop back.

There is a diffinate period for canceling, check the confirmation letter. I did with Vodaphone, they sent a package to return the Dongle and I got a full rebate.

The service was awful, took several minutes to load a page.
