As madmark says - a lot depends on the make and model of phone. Old Nokias are easy and free to unlock. Most Sony Ericcson's can be unlocked relatively cheaply, except for the newer ones (k800i, k810i) where it's €50 per phone. With Sony's, you download the software to do it for free, but then you have to purchase credits online to use the software - one credit per phone, typically €7-10. There tends to be bulk discounts when you buy credit but for personal use, that makes no odds. You can get cracked versions of the software that avoid the need to pay but you run the risk of killing your phone and there's no comeback if you do. Other makes/models I can't say I know much about.
you sure on it being £50 for the 810i? r'lass broke hers, took it to barnsley market n he said £50 to repair it or £90 for a new un...unlocked? anyway, she managed to con orange into giving her a new phone under warranty, dropped it but no visible damage...only a couple or 3 months old,new un came today. me,having lost mine....grrrrrr ordered a new 1, but the bird wants mine when it comes cos ive ordered the white 810i, 1 will need to be unlocked for sure
Are you sure you're talking about K series phones? The price of €50 (not £) is for unlocking K-series phones with the DaVinciTeam software as this is the only one that will do it. The W series phones are built on an older platform and are much cheaper to unlock. For single phones it is much cheaper to get them unlocked at a shop. £15 ought to cover it - try the fone home on Wombwell if you still there.
Normally it's a simple job to unlock telefons On my Nokia i usually press the blue button highest to the right and *. What type of mobile have you got? I'll see if any of my fellow workers have the same type!
Nokia N80 don't know. SE K800i - depends on CID code. Download XS++ http://flash-file.com/XS++/download.php and USB Drivers http://www.kulankendi.com/download/Driver/USBFlashDriver.zip Unzip both archives to separate folders in a convenient location. Switch off your phone and connect the USB cable to your PC. Hold down the C button on your phone and connect the USB cable. When the "Found new hardware" wizard starts, direct it to the unzipped driver folder for the drivers. Once installed unplug the USB, open XS++ and click Start. When you get the Ready For Operation message in the message window, look for EROM CID and OTP CID and post them here. If both are 49 it's easy to unlock, 51 or 52 and you're in trouble. If it's a 49, you can unlock with kulankendi.com for €6
