What a nice looking stadium. The redevelopment of that stadium brilliant. I'd only been once before, about 8 years ago I think.

But it brings me to thnk what are Barnsley fans on about with some of the things they say.

I heard some one say that Ashton Gate was a **** hole. We were in their equivalent of the west stand (by that I mean the oldest stand) and it was fine.

They probably have a bit of interest in the match day experience. Unlike BFC.

All IGNORANT fans, of any club, sing stupid songs about where they are being a **** hole. Sometimes they are in one but Ashton Gate couldn't be described that way. Neither can Oakwell, or most football grounds these days.

Of course, if the knuckle draggers are referring to the town that they are visiting that is different but, again, Bristol is definitely not one.

Ok, let's have it. What exactly have I done to upset you lately because I can't think what I have said to warrant that kind of infantile remark.

What is it? Is it because I can talk about Germany as well as you can, having lived there myself? Does that bother you in some way that it's not YOUR pet subject.

    Just curious, that's all.

I heard it a few times. I can't imagine Bristol been a **** hole in any way either.

I made a comment to one guy who said it. I said to him that I thought the ground was really nice. He didn't say anything but the next comment was that fing Johnson and about him been a dwarf. First of all, you aren't annoyed because of LJ, but Because of Barnsley and he's 5'ft 6 I think. A log of Barnsley fans aren't taller than that or just over. We aren't a group of giants.

Someone's a bit sensitive this morning?

I was merely replying to YOUR post.

Feel free to discuss Germany, I'd welcome the discussion.

Every city and town has rough areas but overall Bristol is an impressive place to live and visit.

I think the key word there is was a shithole. Which it was. The old away end and the stand to the left of it were crumbling away. Very nice looking now though.

Used to go a lot, my uncle was fire chief for Avon

Some of the stories he used to tell about fire officers been shot at were horrific. Like I say it seems to have moved on from that

My parents ex neighbours moved to Bristol many years ago after their University years. Made their home and family there. Still follow Barnsley. Their view on the development of Ashton Gate, and many of their local friends, is that it's even more impressive having being developed on the same site, rather than moving out of town, so to speak.

So all they've done is rebuild half the ground?

What have BFC done in the last fourteen years?

I'll ask again - what have we done to the stadium in the last fourteen years?

Not sure what you want us to do to the ground? Ashton Gate was fine but actually not that much better or different to Oakwell. However, I if it's Match day Experience you're on about, I'd say at the ground, my match day experience is better at Oakwell than Ashton Gate. (irrespective of result).

So it seems we're supposed to have....offered better terms to keep players, paid more money to attract better ones AND redeveloped the stadium at the same time. I wish MY finances stretched as far as people seem to think BFC's do.
