And you didn't have to endure the sounds of celebration and hooting of car horns all night, either. I was stood at the edge of our garden shouting "Shut up you jammy f**kers" in the general direction of the village. Not one of my proudest moments, perhaps, but it certainly helped let off some steam.

Have to admit I still feel flat, I've never felt so disappointed after watching England play. This was a lot of the players chance, most of them will be 30 next time.</p>

Well the players should have played allot better from the first game if they realised it was there last chance. We played better with 10 men than we did the whole tournament with 11.

Owen HArgreaves Englands player of tournament, and prob Lampard the worst for me.

RE: I was after it 10 minutes after the end of the game

I just can't get my head around the fact that a team consisting of so many world class players, failed to perform at the highest level. We didn't even play one decent team.

Paraguay & T&T & Equador- Happy to sit back and defend
Sweden - Played a little bit better, and opened up the play abit more
Portugal - Team full of divers, who rarely posed a threat.

Beckham, majority of crosses never went past first man yet people are happy to have him the team because of his effort.... We needed more than that, and from the time he went off against Portugal, Gerrard put in a few decent corners, lennon ran at the defence and the play as a whole turned around.. Fair enough this could be because we went down to 10 men OR was it because BEckham had left the field!!??

All these so-called "World class players" - problem is most of them play in midfield and we tried to have them all on the pitch at the same time....it's like saying a team have 6 quality strikers and then wondering why they lost when they played them all!

Beckham - wasn't he involved in every goal we scored? Admittidely that wasn't many!
