At a guess, that's around £13 million in transfer fees we brought in this season.

Let's say we signed Moncur for 500k.

Where's the rest gone? We need some investment to get fans morale back and get the team moving forwards.

Jason Cummings is a player I'd like to see at Oakwell. £2m is the fee being touted though.

Don't forget the increased home and away attendance money, promotion to the championship was said to be worth 6 million best part of 7 million the stones sell on 6 million Mawson and let's not forget the 500k for winnall. I also expect bree to leave for 4 million.

If that's true, then we must've been in a seriously bad way the past few years.

I reckon alot of it will be used soon, either to give existing players who want to stay bigger contracts, continue to fund the academy, sign players for a little bit more money (don't expect millions on transfers though) and hopefully (if his family are up for it) a big sign that says 'The Norman Rimmington Stand' and a statue as well.

Who's claiming poverty? You need to read those Cryne interviews again...

You said the 13.million we made last transfer window is proping the club up.must be in a sorry state if that the case especially bearing in.mind the promotion money increased season ticket sales and away gates.

Running a football club is very difficult , if you look round there are few clubs who actually make a profit .

It's securing the future of the football club. How long do you think Cryne can keep underwriting the debts to the tune of £3m per year? It's all been adequately explained.

Our last season in the Championship , we were financially the best run club , and we made a profit of £1.9 m , but had debts of £3.5 million...had we had Burnley's wage bill we would have lost around £9m and carried much extra debt into the following year ....that debt is expensive and needs to be paid for ....combine that with the crowd losses etc due to relegation , and it takes good management to turn that round . Yes we have a few million from transfers , but don't forget Revenue and Customs take 20% if you make a profit , so things look tighter .
I would say we are well run , and now have a few quid to play with if necessary , the bulk needs to be saved for the rainy days .

3 million was after relegation from.the championship I thought. Take a look at Chesterfieldthat's what happens when you sell your top players for peanuts and don't invest

3.5million was the debt at the end of the Championship season , we made a 1.9m profit , but don't forget we'd slashed the wage bill massively under Keith Hill , God knows what the debt would have been had we not done that . The next lowest debt was Bristol City at double ours and the highest was Bolton at 163 million .

It's been pretty much every season since Cryne took over, to some degree. I think there should and will be investment in the playing staff, we need to maintain Champ status, most importantly.

We've had a good year, but we can't look at those transfer funds as guaranteed income. There has to be a financial safety net to stop crap happening again. Nobody is going to come in and wave a magic wand, the club has to look after itself.

I think there is enough in the bank as security. From here in, I think any income generated by player sale, such as James Bree, if it goes ahead, will be reinvested in the team. I think we're in a position to safely do that now, without having to look over our shoulder when the bills come in.

I agree with you there they needs to be some investment in the playing squad I'm not saying let's blow 13 million but like you say staying up is vital, relegation cost us 6 million last time. I believe bree will be going before the window closes which I don't mind as long as we get a good deal.
