<font>DERBY County defender Darren Moore has agreed to join Barnsley on a free transfer.</font></p> <font>The 34-year-old centre-back will put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Oakwell.</font></p> <font>Barnsley boss Simon Davey told the club's official website: "We have been looking to increase competition at the back and have brought in a player with a proven pedigree.</font></p> <font>"Darren has won promotion four times from the Championship during his career and we are delighted to have persuaded him to join up despite interest from a lot of clubs"</font></p> <font>Moore, who helped Derby to win promotion to the Premier League in 2006-7, had a year left on his contract at Pride Park but was told he could leave.</font></p> <font>Several clubs showed an interest including Bradford City and Leicester City. He was also linked with Doncaster Rovers and Swansea.</font></p> <font>He joined Derby from West Bromwich Albion in January 2006 and made 89 appearances, scoring five goals.</font></p>
