as you i know i was made redundant on the 8th of december, i had my appeal yeaterday and find out the outcome after xmas,
meanwhile i have taken photo evidence of the contracts manager "selling supplies from site" a practice which is not only frowned upon, also carries a £500 reward through the company.
the manager in question has been to see me having found out about the photos and is very worried, threatening me with solicitors for slander etc after denying everything.i am of course angry at losing my job and my workmates all say to report him and make someone else suffer as well.
morally not very nice, i would like to know what you personally would do

    Hi Daz.
Will there ever be a chance of you working back there when things pick up? - If so no
Does this bloke have any clout with other companies you maybe applying for jobs with? He could single you out as a trouble maker.
Will he have anything to do with your reference?

linz i can get a reference off any of my site managers

and i don't think i'd want to ever work for these lot again, if i leave. i've only stayed now because i've been here that long for job security.
was told by this manager my job was safe, but that the construction director wanted me out and got his way. oh and we have reported the director to human resources for the way he has handled the whole process

having announced you've got the photo's you have no choice

failiure to hand them into the employer could be seen as withholding evidence if the crime comes to light.

Continuing to dangle it in front of the other persons face and not handing them in could also be tantamount to blackmail.

Why would you take photos otherwise?

It all sounds abit dodgy. Any grounds for unfair dismissal as i remember you saying in a previous post that there was still work

there are grounds for unfair dismissal, which is one of the reasons i haven't

I don't see why it's a moral dilemma, he's the one that has done something against the rules, you just have the evidence to prove it. It's you moral obligation to shop him.

Just be sure the photo's are as 'cast iron evident' as you think

That is do they show money changing hands, do they show the face of the manager in question and the fellow receiving the goods. Could any of the pictures be construed as a normal activity on site. If any of these points are in doubt, then the guy could have a 'comeback' in law. I would be inclined to leave well alone and get your 'payout'

I agree with wastyke on this one

Photographic evidence on its own is always a bit weak. Be 100 % certain before you go down that road....Photographs may arouse your ex employers suspicions but they would have to investigate further before taking action, which may involve you giving your side of the story sometime later to a tribunal.... Ask yourself , do you want that hassel
