It's been great reading all the posts about Leeds and relegation in the last few days ! It reminds me that we remain and always will be a great club and a source of fascination for others with less history. I write as a season ticketholder (with my 3 boys), living in Penzance and I can honestly say that I'm already looking forward to next season. New grounds and hopefully a few wins as well ! We've deserved absolutely nothing this year, having improved far too late and the only constant has been the support of the fans. Now we've got rid of the casual, glory-obsessed muppets from a few years ago, we are down to about 20,000 passionate people who actually care for the club. The team might have been crap this season, but our support, everywhere we went has been inspirational. The same (hopefully not the team !) will undoubtedly be true next year. For the many who "hate" Leeds (often as a distraction from their own team's failings) have a go and enjoy it while you can, you will never ever break us. Me ? I'm off to renew my season tickets and then to spend some time on the beach ! We are Leeds and We are proud of it.

and not wishing to be too pedantic............well OK then ... how can the support have been as he puts it "inspirational" ??
their support has inspired them to be so w*nk as to get relegated

Well to be fair he has a point Like the old saying 'you should not kick a man when he's down' I sat in the stands with my son age 8 and watched the greats, many times. Clark Hunter Bremmner, Giles, and the visiting greats like Tony Currie. I borrowed two season tickets for 6 matches and at that time somebody had to die before you could get one. However time moves on and the present club is a far cry from these days. Maybe they have good some players but they have Mr Bates Mr Wise who does'nt inspire any confidence and at present a set of Fans who will not admit they are in Division 1 because the team aint good enough for the championship. As mentioned thinks change and I am now sat in the stands at Oakwell with my 9 year grandson Barnsley through and through and lets face it if Barnsley FC were in the same position next season as Leeds are this, I'd stick up for them regardless of what people were saying, would you.
'For the many who "hate" Leeds (often as a distraction from their own team's failings) have a go and enjoy it while you can, you will never ever break us.' ............soz mate but do you really think that's why Leeds are hated.? Here's a few more plausible reasons in case you forgot: Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, Vinny Jones = thugs who shamed the game. Clarke = Baby Face assassin, fans = arrogant, aggressive, trouble causers (ask Ipswich Fans if you don't believe me), 'Marching All Together' Chant = only the Leeds fans think this is cool, to the rest of us it sounds like a kids nursery ryhme. 'Leeds, Leeds, Leeds' when you get a corner - bordering on a Nazi salute with all that chest thumping, arm waving crap. Silly accent = makes you sound like wannabee Mancunians - a disgrace to the rest of Yorkshire. .............you are disliked for many many reasons that have built up ovber many many years my friend- by clubs nationally who are far higher in league status so I assure you it's not envy. .............you must envy the people on here associated with a local club for honest, dignified people who dont have a chip on their shoulder about 'where we belong'. One final thought - a club from a big city aint automatically a Big Club - ask Bristol City n Rovers.
