I've just the statement and (whether Mav10 is accurate or not) I simply do not think it portrays a fair picture of what must have gone on. It's all spin and blame. It states that Howard did not want to discuss a new contract but doesn't say when - I bet discussions have taken place but the club weren't willing/ able to match what Howard knew he could get elsewhere. It states that no other club has ever made an offer for Howard which is certainly true but doesn't say whether other clubs made contact in the summer with a view to making an offer but were put off by the club's asking price. It's also easy to see the ****-up that has been made in the end with his transfer. The club blames Howard for not listening to deals from other clubs apart from Sheff Utd. We all know that Howard had been to Sheff Utd and had a medical and the deal must have been all but done and dusted before other clubs' offers came in. So Howard wasn't prepared to do a "Nardiello" and renege on the agreement he'd obviously committed himself to - well done to him I reckon. Glad it's all done and dusted now and we can get on with fighting relegation. Don't blame Howard for going to another club to earn more than he could at Barnsley and am grown-up enough to wish him well even if it is in deedar land. Just wish we had some decent management at the club (and I don'y mean Davey - this isn't his fault)
Fantastic...a balanced opinion. Other than it suggests just about more money, and I don't think quite accurate..if you believe club or not. Ambition is the key??
when you say you don't mean davey........ I assume you mean Cryne? Now I know its sacrilege to question the Sainted one on here as he's held up to be our saviour what with him being a "businessman" and he's rich tha noes. Well, theres plenty to be said on his background and business qualities that really shouldn't mean our current predicament should come as a surprise. But as I cant afford the lawyers and The Times can, I'll let them add the fuel, old news but a dose of reality for some.................. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article675821.ece (popcorn)
