QPR pay on gate at pre game prices (no need to buy advance tickets) Sheff Wed - never gonna sell out - speak to Police, get back to pay on gate, because the bother that is likely to ensue on Sat with 1,000s of ticketless folks is going to be worse than if everyone could pay on gate. Chelsea - Sell "non reserved for ST holder tickets" on turnstiles for anyone not bothered about claiming their own seat / happy to sit anywhere in ground. The club knows which seats are not reserved for ST holders, so just have a pile of them & get cash only sales going. This would free up ST seats after the ST deadline. Get some temp staff in to cover cash sales (matchday staff) Just a thought- the club looks like losing out on alot of sales with the progress (or lack of it) thisweek.
Extend opening hours for high demand games Normally we sell about 2000 tickets prior to a league game. For the Chelsea game we're hoping to sell 18,000 yet the opening hours are exactly the same and no extra staff have been set on. Weekends are the best time for most people to get down so this should be the busiest period for ticket sales. What do we do - open for 3 hours on Saturday morning. Only 150 people were gauranteed to get served in a weekend.
Why can't we hire 3 or 4 extra terminals/printers/temporary staff etc for these rare occasions?

Definitely Where I work we have event deadlines to meet, and basically it means working thru the night until the job is done. You just take off time at a later (quieter time). I realise that some staff at Oakwell may not all be able to work extended hours, but surely with matchday gate staff etc they have enough casuals to be able to call in & do an evening shift for a couple of days. If the problem is down to having sufficient staff trained on using the computerised system, then they should look at other ways of selling tickets, or as other folks have suggested, getting up to date.
