They're doing exactly what anyone would do at work if their boss was a bell end.

Contracts are contracts for a reason, regardless of how much you get paid.

"Nobody says we're against discipline at the PFA. but it's got to be proportionate," said Taylor. (ok, like their wages are proportionate?) "We have a recommended code for clubs to adhere to" (cheeky fecker!)

Gordon Taylor is an ar$e and has consistently excused atrocious behaviour by footballers over the years as if somehow we need to be more understanding of the poor dears because all they know is football and they know no better. Liking Mr Di Canio more all the time tbh.

I suppose covering yourself in £50 notes and posting pics of yourself is ok.

In no way was he disrespecting the fans of a club in an area where unemployment is high.

Yep Paulo should be giving him a hug instead.

    Soft barstewards.

You're getting wound up about something that there's no need to get wound up at. Did he post them or did someone who was in the casino recognise him and then post it?

Never said he should be hugging them. He should be acting in accordance with their contracts. Simple.

I can't knock him for his actions. Those players have a responsibility to their supporters dont they?

They can't have it both ways.

I aint wound up.I actually like his old school approach. They should man up.

Enlighten us then Dyson, as you seem to know what's in these contracts. Is there not a section which mentions 'bringing the club into disrepute' or do they actually list all the things they can't do. Most employment contracts have vague catch all sections in them. Bringing the company into disrepute/ gross misconduct or similar. I doubt footballers are any different. So Di Canio is acting in accordance with their contracts. It's open to interpretation, surely and its the company, or rather, the club in this case who decides what constitutes a breach. Not the player, or Gordon Taylor, or ,dare I say it, you.

You dare say it my friend, and you just did.

Surely it's got to be a proportionate response though? I don't know what the punishment is but there's obviously enough in it to complain to the Union. That's all it is. A Union investigating a complaint by one of it's members.

And do they try and justify it by saying we are millionaire footballers and can do what ever we want?

Yea I get that, but you have to remember Di Canio is weeks or less into a new job. He goes lightly here and he makes a rod for his own back +he has to ship some out and bring some in. He's obviously testing the players. Any Player with any sense would realise this and take it on the chin. Any union with any sense would tell the player the same. 'Look lad you've got a new manager in, what do you expect'. Instead of some common sense thinking, they go bleating to the press making both themselves look foolish and the player like a spoilt brat.

I'm sorry but this isn't new from Paolo.

    He needs to calm down.
He was out of line several times at Swindon and he's out of line again.
All the players have contracts and there tight. Not many people can be told when they can and can not drink alcohol....

    That excuses their behaviour then.

I'm not sure what they've done wrong by reporting him to be honest. They have a union and have reported what they believe to be unacceptably harsh treatment by their boss. Isn't that what unions up and down the country deal with day in, day out?

It's all well and good saying, 'theyre footballers, they should know better' but you don't actually know what they've done wrong (the report doesn't specifically say it's going out drinking), and doesn't say what the punishment was either. If it turns out that D.I.W@nkio has forced players to change outside in the middle of a field and to do 20km runs every day as punishment for needing a **** during training wouldn't you agree that they're right to report him for bullying in the workplace?

Wait until we know the facts, what exactly they did wrong and what the punishment was, before judging.

Think Alex Ferguson would have argued with you over that one.
Its obviously hard to know who is right without knowing the full facts but I would say this, as much as I don't like Di canio a succession of managers have failed at a club that really should be doing way better given its fanbase and I think I'm right that the last one who did anything much was Peter Reid another disciplinarian, so I suspect that there's a fair few players up there drawing great wages and not applying themselves as much as they might so on this occasion I think they need the manager to kick a few arses and let them know who is actually the boss.

How can anyone take someone seriously with a tattoo of Mussolini on his back and whose 'highlight' of a footballing career was shoving a referee over. Sunderland should hold their hands up and accept they've made a monuMENTAL mistake by appointing Di Canio and get shut quick.
