morning all, for some reason this away defeat has disappointed more than any of the others

didnt go, didnt even listen to it but relied on updates on here, radio 5 live and the BBC 'live' text commentary

positives first - Macken's long awaited goal, KO for putting himself about a bit more
negatives - scoring two away and losing

it looked as though this would be a solid away performance with 10 men holding on for a draw. The problem is that is didnt come as any surprise when we conceded right at the death - gutted for the rest of the night, more so than for any other away result

having just speed read through the comments from those that went, acknowledging the 'we were robbed' that all away supporters feel, it looks as though we were robbed. I also note that we are now considered a dirty team, supported by the number or free kicks that we concede resulting in goals from set pieces

so, why is it then that when we are at home, the referees appear to allow all sorts of niggling behaviour (shirt pulling, climbing, abh in penalty areas) from visitors but we often get penalised - therefore not getting home advantage from the officials. Is it because our lads are not as good as conning the ref as others or is it because we are a dirty team (I cant see through the red tinted specs but I dont think we do anything other than get stuck in) - are we?

(liked the comment earlier about the referee having one arm longer than the other and carrying two whistles)

    Surprised You Feel Like That

On paper at least, it was the best away performance of the season out of the ones we have lost. We scored two at 3rd in the league and lost late on with ten men. Way better than what we did at Wendy and Blunts for example.

possibly because this was looking like a good away performance

and we got nothing out of it either because of known defensive frailties, dodgy officials or similar conspiracy theories

in other away matches, when we have deserved something, we have usually got it

I'm not sure how you can say that on paper we did better. We threw away a lead twice and turned it into a loss.

    was it chuff

what about the Southampton game for starters.

or maybe the point at Ipswich - first team to take something away from there all season.
