My wife works at Morrison’s and she’s told me that from tomorrow store opening times are changing.

    Instead of 6am while 10pm
    It’s 8am while 8pm

7am till 8am Monday to Saturday is NHS shopping hour
you will need your NHS Card to get in
So rolling up in your NHS fancy dress costume you bought is not going to cut it !!

This is company wide not just Barnsley town centre store.

Just thought I would post it as I sometimes drop my wife off first thing and there’s usually people going in as soon as the shop opens
guess to get a few bits on there way to work.
Obviously now there banging on the windows sat in there cars waiting for the store to open.

We've also started offering an hour's shopping for Morrisons colleagues too, people like myself who work in manufacturing.

Nhs staff who are exposed to patients with cv19 mixing with the most vulnerable in society

Which genius dreams these things up?

Do you think we should all have our shopping delivered by government decree? (Nhs staff member)

I do agree with the policy. Shame us self employed are getting nothing from anyone though.

    Absolutely.
Daughter and son-in-law with 2 young kids and rented property both self-employed.
I do see a problem here though. Would the plumber stop going to people's houses to fix leaks or whatever if the government gives him a wage?
I feel for the kids because they both work 60 hours a week to earn a living.

It's not easy but i would like to think a balance could be found between £94 a week and covering what they currently earn.

They should concentrate on social distancing rather than their opening hours.

I know there's a lot of work being done on this currently. Hopefully they come up with some solutions

    You’re missing the point.

    Nhs staff mixing with vulnerable

nhs staff does not have the correct ppe so they will be getting ill and spreading the disease

    it kills

nice sentiment but poor thought our policy

should be nhs one day, elderly next

So elderly NHS staff can go twice. Bit unfair. :p

Instead of a specific NHS hour why not have your security only let in so many people at a time? So know a reasonably safe number in and when that number is reached have a one in one out system? If you show your NHS badge you can queue jump no matter the time of day. Some NHS staff might not want to go at 7 am after a really long shift or get up really early when they aren't to start work until say the afternoon.

This NHS hour means our high risk staff will have to leave the supermarket past a huge queue waiting for it to end, carrying whatever they might be that they don't even know about.

We need to avoid any queues though in reality. This is the problem. People need to calm down.

It's going to be very difficult to break this cycle of panic buying.

It is without Govt intervention , With what’s to come this govt are dilly dallying , asking people will not cut it . There are to put it mildly inconsiderate selfish bloody minded morons who won’t abide by the requests they need a kick up the arse .
It’s all well and good Boris asking via news bulletins etc most sensible people will take this advice but we are then put at risk by these idiots and others that will go about their buisness as if normal .
Not untill this is forced will these people take it seriously .
Once again we are left at the mercy of idiots . We know at oakwell choose how many appeals or threats to stay off the pitch that there will be a pitch invasion and the rest of us no matter how much booing we do will suffer because of these idiots ,
I’ve always said a few bans or even arrests in some cases would stop it but like owt else majority have to suffer.

A lot of factors are at play in people's response. People are been told not to make unnecessary journeys and saty home but to buy less so they have to go to shop more often.

Exactly and that’s where leadership comes in .
If there’s procedure put in place then people will respond . There will be exceptions and misunderstandings but at least the majority will know unlike now where lots of people are just carrying on .
If we told we can’t do something it’ll go a lot further than being asked ,

Yeah but then there's also things like I drove past a barber's today and there were 3 guys all sitting on seats right next to each other waiting and another 2 having their hair cut.
