According to our mate Nixon. Wigan recalling him, and says clubs been talking all weekend. No sure if he will play today. Trying to find out what's happening.
If so, we'll be signing him imminently, subject to agreeing personal terms. As far as I understand we have an option to buy at an agreed price.
he is on 5 yellows but the amnesty for 5 is now in place. Now need to get to 10 before you miss a game
A post on wigans forum says all 3 parties have to agree to a loan being recalled. Both teams and the player.
but he is on a season long loan... so how can that happen I cannot see Hecky wanting to let go, and on the face of it Sam seems happy to be here. So it can only be Wigan rocking the boat or some hack journo stirring things.
Re: but he is on a season long loan... so how can that happen Nixon also saying Wigan struggling for cash to spend this Jan, so surely if they want to deal, better for them to get it done asap
Apart from to cover injury as JackTatty mentions above, I'm not sure what Wigan could hope to gain from recalling a player in Jan that they are going to sell to the club he is currently on loan to in the summer. Surely they'd know that they'd be getting a player who's head and heart is elsewhere? He knows they weren't interested in him before and now he's got a place in our team he could lose it by having to go back for a few months to a place where he wasn't wanted. Seems a bit daft it that was to happen.
Not surprised one bit. He's Wigan's player, he's in form and they're in a relegation dogfight. If anything, they're probably ruing letting him go in the first place. If I was Wigan manager, I'd be getting him back as soon as possible. If the boot was on the other foot, I imagine we'd be all be demanding a recall as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Aye but if we have an agreement to sign him for a fee, and he wants to stay in a much better team where he's been appreciated then they've got about as much of a say in the issue as a house brick
I'd be surprised if there was some cast iron thing in place, which meant they have to sell him, if we say we wanted him. Unless Don Rowing is running things down there now. More likely something that says we get first dibs and possibly the fee. I imagine they're still able to keep him if they wanted to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
