That's not that at all. We've agreed a fee, just need to sort out personal terms. Wigan were within their rights to play him today but I'd still be surprised if he wasn't a Barnsley player very soon

Weird. The Wigan fans didn't give a toss when he was farmed out to us on loan....

We've had his four months loan to sort out personal terms. It surely should have been signed up already and dealt with so he didn't get cup tied. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come.

I think he wants a big wage more than we can afford and Barnsley will not pay and if that's the case then for me he can get on his bike. Just my opinion like.

It doesn't feel right to me. Surely if it was just a case of sorting personal terms it would be sorted out; we've had plenty of time to discuss it.

I agree I can't see him returning, I presume he would have to take a pay cut to come here. We knew what could happen January and knew we just had to sort personal terms, unless hecky has only just decided to keep him then it is a very strange situation. Anyone with a slight bit of sense would have had this sorted before Jan. Maybe the club are not backing hecky on this one and making him use moncur instead.

Doesn't feel right to me this one. If ever a transfer looked as if it was nailed on to be an easy fix early January, it was this one. For a week to go by and him to be picked and play for Wigan, to me either we cannot agree terms, or the player/agent is taking his time deciding. If he continues to play for Wigan, which would be perfectly understandable from their point of view, it tells me that he isn't coming. A player about to jump ship for a fee surely wouldn't be picked for a FA Cup tie. But who knows?

Well we've clearly not given up given Hecky said it was still ongoing after the match. Yes it's taking a while but can still be done

Not as likely as we thought though is it? We've had four months to negotiate with him whilst on loan. Then as soon as the window opened back up it becomes permanent and today he plays for us. Instead it's dragged on a week and he's now cup tied.

I'd say that Morsy's low key reaction on Twitter suggests that today's Wigan game meant very little to him. He has been actively tweeting after every Barnsley game recently and has only replied to a couple of Wigan players praising him tonight. Negotiations are ongoing with his agent and he'll be more frustrated than anyone that it's taking so long.

I hope so. Really do. It's going to be a big loss if we don't get him over the line

No it isn't but I'm still pretty confident we'll get it done. We'll have to see what happens!

I'd suggest that Morsy in the middle instead of Scowen today would have been an improvement.

I've been a big fan of Josh right from the start but I think he was well short of the mark today and it was inevitable that he would get booked. Touch of frustration maybe?

Seeing as I have missed so many games this season I'm not really qualified, but I'll say it anyway.......I don't rate James Bree all that highly.

He could turn into a Premier League star, some time in the future, but he's not really my idea of a great full back yet. We keep hearing that he is really a mid field player. Maybe that's the answer. To be honest I'm not sure what he is.

Isn't there a rule that you can only discuss personal terms once a fee has been agreed and accepted, and the deal is in motion? I know it's different with the fee being agreed before the loan, but I highly doubt any person terms were discussed before the window opened and we officially triggered the permanent deal.
