A lot of fans wanted to see Macken and Mossto play together you know,I couldnt decide myself about him, his movement was terrific but he was easily pushed aside and he could never really get his game together.

For me thats whats wrong with Barnsley too much long ball, hit and hope for the 2 inferior strikers,in fairness whos to say they wouldnt play better with the ball on the deck.

Agree with you about too much long ball. That was our main approach at Wembley and it failed. Most of it was the ball drifting in with no pace behind it, diagonally or down the centre, and their centre backs lapped everything up easily. Ferenczi had zero impact, KO was more of a handful in spite of his glaring miss. There were hardly any crosses from the bye line, pulled back, which are the most dangerous ones to deal with. Devaney managed such a cross once , which KO ran onto but shot weakly at the keeper. Simon Davey MUST try something different tomorrow at Watford to break our lousy away record. Midfielders need to break forward far more often to support the front two. If we concede, too bad, at least we go to Watford to try and score. I don't want S.D. to go to Watford with a defensive set-up, hoping for a 0-0. I think that kind of approach means more of the same -i.e. defeat.

I could be wrong, but he did score on his debut for us, away at Buxton. It was a cracking goal as well.

A goal against Buxton in a friendly and a couple of goals in a Peruvian League no better than our Div 2. It says it all. He was out of his depth at our level and the quicker people grasp that simple concept the better.
