Davey stays. And stays for good. No question of his job being under threat or there is no way they would let Howard go.
Had Davey got 2/3 games to turn it around, i'm pretty sure they'd have let Howard sit it out in the hope that a new gaffer could change his attitude.
Davey's here to stay. Now that is depressing

Do not despair my friend, defeats at Ipswich ............ ..... and at home to Donny on Saturday and he should be history, or they had better get some extra police and stewards in to control the protests when we play the pigs at home
To sell Howard at this present time means Daveys job is more than secure After reading the Howard statement, the spot light is shifting here to the role of the Directors
Not necessarily The statement doesn't really indicate that Davey had ANY involvement with the decision or any of the events leading upto it apart from that he was present last monday.
RE: Not necessarily Howard's current mentality is based on the current regime.
The fact that Davey was even involved suggests he's to stay. Patrick is the owner, and had he been thinking about changing the manager, surely he's going to speak to the club captain about the situation and the atmosphere amongst the playing staff? Howard after all, is supposed to be the teams representative.
Mind you, this is BFC we are talking about. fecking anything could be happening.

Regardless of Howard's departure, his job can't be secure ... ...... when we can't score a goal and/or win a game
RE: Regardless of Howard's departure, his job can't be secure ... Agree. PC will not be sentimental if by Christmas we look doomed. He has said that staying in this league is most important thing with the money it brings so Davey not totally safe. Although, if money and financial stability is the focus, it's hard to understand why we end up taking peanuts for a player worth couple of million only a month ago.
RE: Regardless of Howard's departure, his job can't be secure ... we look doomed now if we leave it until christmas it could be too late
If P.C. waits until Christmas before taking any action P.C deserves all that he gets and my respect for the man will go through the window. He needs to get rid now.
I disagree. If they knew he didn't want to play for us, they should not have let him step on the field. I want players who want to play for Barnsley. Since the game against liverpool, Brian Howard has thought he is bigger than the club he is playing for. I am not debating he has given us some great memories and played well for us, but in my opinion, he hasn't been the same player this season and now it is clear why.
Correct ... and in order to stay up we'll need to win at least 1 in every 3 of our remaining games AT LEAST !
Nowt to do with playing alongside Booby Hassell and having the full weight of expectation on his shoulders then?
The spotlight did go to his head. Little things like taking his profile off facebook indicated that. As for Davey me saying Christmas was a bit generous. By end November tops. We fast approaching the 'can tell after ten games where teams will finish' milestone
Cryne said he wanted a top half finish this season ..... ....... at what point will he realise that isn't happening and get shut? sooner rather than later me thinks
