If we do manage to make the top two will this season surpass any that have gone before it?

I'd say so. Considering where we were in December. Still think we're 4 or 5 points short of mounting a serious challenge though

    I would agree with that

Finishing in the play offs will be a great achievement taking into account our league position 3 months ago

And we all the know he best way to get promoted is through the play offs

I can't believe I was actually checking the dates for the play off final yesterday to make sure I'd got nothing booked.

Sadly I think you're right. Looks like we're going to have to do it via the playoffs.

I wouldn't say it was the most exciting

I would describe it as the most depressing followed by the most exciting

The biggest roller coaster ride in years would probably be a better description

How would everyone react if we just fell short. Would we see it overall as an underachievement and not good enough, booooo. Or would we see it as a big well done overachievement and did all they could season? Personally I think we have to applaud the team irrespective of position from here on. The clubs had changes, the young players have come of age, new players took longer to gell and some early season mistakes but the experienced ones got stuck in and lead by example. It took us a while to get started but as much as the first half was well below par, I never expected such a good performance second half of the season.

I have to say from where I'm sat, hard work, quality players and a simple plan has outshone the over complicated bomb alley, pressure zone and managers tinker zone strategy.

If we fall short, we will settle for the playoffs

Even if we finish 7th, we've had a remarkable second half of the season and can't complain. I've got my eye on 2nd though :)

Im finding it bonkers that after the ridiculous achievement of making play offs all anyones talking about is making automatic... Talk about counting your chickens. All this is doing is leading to a bigger backlash if they don't make play offs/ go up

The last 19 years of Bfc's history has been pretty amazing.

    Promoted to the premier league
    Relegated
    Play off defeat at Wembley
    Administration
    Relegation to third tier
promotion in play off final at millennium stadium
Fa cup semi final defeat at Wembley
    Relegation to third tier again
    JPT final at Wembley
    Record consecutive league defeats
From bottom of league to play off contenders in three months

    What a journey.

Even if we miss out its been a remarkable season my only fear is that going up is the best chance we've got at keeping our better players

I don't think anyone is saying that, not in this thread anyway. Whatever happens now our turnaround has been nothing short of amazing and to make the play-offs will be an achievement but to make the top two would be unparalleled.

I would see it as 3 peoples fault we've missed a huge opportunity. 1. Lee Johnson 2. Ben Mansford and 3. PC. 2 and 3 for not removing number 1 in sufficient time.
