BARNSLEY Football Club ask supporters not to run onto the pitch following the final whistle against Leicester City this weekend.

Simon Davey and the players would like to show their gratitude to fans following their support this season at the conclusion of today's game and this will be impossible should persons run onto the playing area.

Supporters are reminded that it is a criminal offence to run onto the playing surface at Oakwell.

Even more so, the club are already under the watchful eye of the FA following incidents Vs Leeds, Sheff Wed, Coventry and Birmingham (all at Oakwell).

You'll get the usual idiots who get on, then another 100 or so will follow. Spoils it for the rest and even more so if we seal safety on Saturday.

Thing is people are going to run on the pitch anyway. I will wait to see if people get on if they do then I will get on congratulate the players as I did last year. Besides half of stewards could'nt stop a 10 year old kid getting on pitch ni mind some of the full grown blokes who will run on. Are stewards are 1st class mugs. One of them tried to kick me out of the ground for being on pitch, even though I'd just been laikin 'on me shed'. BFC Stewards= W**kers

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

I'm going to wait till there's 200 people on the pitch, then go on myself. That way, I'll contribute to doubling the combined IQ.

Because they want the pitch clear for the players to be able to come back on to

Without them getting mobbed and giving everyone the chance to see them

One thing though is that somone always pulls up some of the pitch to take it home.

The club then has to replace it for the school and local cup finals. Its a cost which we shouldn't have to pay.

Course its going to happen though.

The majority of the fans dont want to go on the pitch and will respect the clubs wishes. Once again the end of season will be ruined by the idiots who cant follow or understand simple instructions. Stay off the pitch and let everybody have the chance to congratulate the players and management. Simple.

The Club has been in trouble with the FA

over not controlling the crowd (sweetcorn and other incidents) also we are waiting to see what will happen about the brawl the other week, so if people do run onto the pitch it could mean BFC are really in BIG TROUBLE.

I hope people will take note and not go onto the pitch, we don't really want to start next season with a massive fine and maybe a minus points total, whichever division we are in.

Anyone going onto the pitch when they have been told not to should be fined and have a ban from Oakwell.

The team and management can just as easily be applauded from your seats in the stands.
