Me and mates were discussing this over a few beers this weekend after seeing the Blunts and Fowls show themselves up in the stands last week.... The ones we came up with were: Rangers vs Celtic, Man U vs City, Liverpool vs Everton, Man U vs Liverpool, Arsenal vs Spurs, Villa vs Birmingham, Millwall vs West ham....... After seeing Cardiff on their best behaviour at Wembley the one we said would be interesting from next season is them vs The Jacks (should be mental)!! Anyone think of anymore for me to throw into the hat the next time I see my mates???
The strang small outposts where nobody else cares are always tasty So Pompey Saints is very passionate as is Ipswich Nowich
RE: How many of those derbies have you all been to ? If you've not been how do you know which are the most passionate ? For the record I've been to: Liverpool v Everton league cup replay early 1980s Maine rd. Spurs v Chelsea 60,000 gate Arsenal v Spurs, hundreds of arrests 1982 Spurs v Arsenal, night cup replay, about 1980 Aston Villa v West Brom, late 1970s I think 3-0 Villa Celtic v Huns, 1980, first meeting since infamous battle of Hampden, not a nice atmosphere, more political Norwich v Ipswich, 1972 brilliant atmosphere Liverpool v Man Utd, 1999 2-2...Biggest game in English football in my opinion, not sure I'd call it a derby QPR v Millwall Fulham v Chelsea Numerous Sheffield derbies
