Was the pairing of McCourt and Wiseman down our right hand side. McCourt will put in far more eye catching displays than he did yesterday, although there were a few moments of brilliance, but he showed he is capable of putting in a disciplined performance and providing cover for the full back. Wiseman clearly loves playing with McCourt in front of him. He knows he can make an overlapping run because he knows McCourt will deliver the right pass to him every single time. He's a bit reticent to make such runs when other players are picked at right midfield as he believes, quite rightly in my opinion, that they'll **** it up and we'll be left exposed at the back. No such worries with McCourt there, he can make the run every time we attack and the ball will be threaded through to him no matter how many of the opposition try to cut it out. Actually no, the most pleasing thing was we didn't lose. We were the better footballing side, as we are every time we play Wednesday, but usually that just results in a defeat. It didn't yesterday and that'll do for me.
Agree good way to look on things. We were the best side but whilst the 2nd goal doesn't go in then we're always going to fear the worst. Also Pedersen is going to be an excellent player for us, he was brilliant yesterday. His work rate was second to none. Full deserved his goal.
Yesterday was the first time that I had seen Paddy. From things I'd read on here, I didn't expect him to put in as much of a shift as he did doing the dirty work as well as the flair things. It was his tenacity in harrying Reda Johnson which led directly to our goal. By the way, I cannot actually believe that Reda Johnson is a professional footballer. I really am in the wrong job.
All Reda Johnson did yesterday, was constantly moan at the referee and linesmen......oh, and he also physically attacked Pedersen in front of dugouts and got away with it.
