The final hitch in his switch from Peruvian club Cienciano coming with a delay at Lisbon airport. He was too late to play a part in Barnsley's 3-2 friendly win over Portuguese second division side Louletano on Saturday. That game saw £200,000 summer signing Odejayi score twice. He got Barnsley's solitary goal against Morecambe seven days earlier and has given Davey plenty of food for thought ahead of Saturday's friendly at Rotherham United. The 25-year-old former Chletenham striker could be handed a start alongside Mostto in Millmoor and overtake Istvan Ferenczi in the pecking order at Barnsley. Grant McCann scored the other goal for Barnsley in Saturday's win on the Algarve. The players travel back to the UK tomorrow. Arsenal's third-choice goalkeeper Vito Mannone, who was on loan at Barnsley last season, has joined Scottish Premier league newcomers Gretna on trial.
