BARNSLEY Football Club will launch a special man of the match vote, in association with Mitre - the official match ball of the Football League - during our New Year's Eve clash with Huddersfield Town Supporters will be able to vote via their mobile phone for their man of the match during the clash with our local rivals from West Yorkshire by simply texting BARNS and then the surname of your chosen player to 88442. For example if you think Jacob Burns deserves the award, text BARNS BURNS to 88442. Texts cost 50p and supporters will receive confirmation of their vote. And that's not all& we will announce the winner the next working day and supporters who voted for the winning player will go into a draw to win a Mitre match ball signed by the first team squad. Thanks to our exclusive deal with Mitre - the official match ball of the Football League - we will be running the man of the match vote during every home first team game at Oakwell until the end of the campaign. More soon.
Do you think its a disadvantage if you have a long name Doesnt really apply to us but easy to see for example a Villa supporter voting for someone other than Djemba-Djemba cos they cant be arsed to type it all in

RE: It's a good job they only want you to text the players last name then isnt it And his last name is "Sinama Pongolle" which is longer than "Djemba Djemba"
do you not think that maybe pongolle would do? not that it's an issue really because he doesnt play for barnsley
RE: do you not think that maybe pongolle would do? But his last name is Sinama Pongolle. Maybe it should just be Djemba for Eric Djemba Djemba then.
RE: maybe it should be neither Obviously, but for arguments sake, the respective clubs may have a similar service available to fans.
RE: probably not unless they got relegated to the football league without telling anyone There is a possibility they will have their own text service available, I never said it'd be through that PTV or whatever the **** they're called. Oh, and RK out.
if they did then they'd probably have more brains than whoever came up with barns burns and would use squad numbers like anyone with half an IQ over 2. for example barns 25 much simpler than barns devaney and far less chance of making a spelling mistake. but stil, what do I know? I'm not the ones running premium TV (i think someone should tell them that TV stands for television and not internet)
