Thanks for spoiling a good game of football. Reid's red card was a joke. Ok it was handball, deliberate (no) last man(no) so why a card? ( Rankin however(who was also on a yellow) clatters one of our players, an obvious yellow card, but gets a talking to. ( Very poor refereeing. Throughout the game he was allowing the Brentford players to indimidate, dive and did nothing except give them several debatable free kicks. (N)
this handball rule 95% of handballs arnt delibarate so why do they say players do it delibarate fukin ****** that referee today utter wanka
RE: this handball rule As with most rules in football they are open to interpretation by the referee, I agree that some referees get things wrong but consider the following:- How many times have you watched a match on t.v. disagreed with the referee decision and then after 6-7 replays realised he was right (i know this also works the other way round as well) Can you yourself guarantee that every split second decision you make is the right one (if so you are one of the many few perfect people in the world) If a referee didn't turn up for a match then what?? I am not having a go at you personally, just pointing out the difficulty in being a referee and no i am not a referee.
referees should get no sympathy they are the ones that bring it upon themselves by making stupid decisions and going against the rules of the game. The referee saw a brentford player take a swing at austin (he got out of the way of it fortunatly) yet he decided no action was needed. i'm sorry but the laws quite clearly state that any attempted punch is an automatic red card.
RE: referees should get no sympathy Attempting to strike an opponent is indeed a red card, However how do you know he saw it?
I agree it is a difficult job... But this guy hardly got a decision right all afternoon. His interpretation of the rules was very different to mine.
RE: I agree it is a difficult job... thats the point mate everybodys interpretation can be different but who is right and who is wrong? A referee never goes on to the pitch with the intent of getting a decision wrong but will always get some wrong
I agree Referees will always get some decisions wrong, and I am not saying he was delibrately inpet, but he got so many of the BIG decisions wrong today. Do you not think the ref was poor today?
RE: I agree I thought he could have handled some situations differently but that is with the benefit of hindsight, Even one of the assistant referees father said that had rankione done the tackle before the handball like reid then he would have walked, I think they call that rule 13 common sense but it should not always happen. not saying that anybody is wrong or right about the referee just think that people should put themnselves in that situation before berating somebody. Just my own opinion mate(Y)
Different Opinions Are one of the things which makes football great in my opinion! The Ref was rubbish though.....(blaze)
RE: Different Opinions ff Like you say mate opinions are what makes Football interesting. and everybody is entitled to theirs. I will bow down to you and say the referee could have been stronger in his decision making is that ok for you.
RE: because fair enough, in that case he should have dealt with it, you must have been close to hear him shout "oi"
