Just had a look at official board..........and Ritchie sez

we would have been better with Carbon and Reid in defence
Now, he can't say this when only 2 weeks ago he was saying the team had cover in all departments
We obviously haven't. He knows it and everybody in the crowd knows that this is Barnsleys weak spot
To put Kay and Austin in central defence against a strong quick centre forward was commiting suicide
Howard is on his way back and this will provide cover for the wingers
Get the central defence sorted and we could do something this year

 

More urgently, we need

I advise the deletion of this post as it questions those at the top of the football club.

Not because I don't agree with it.

 

Are you saying we can't question the directors ???

It will be a sad day when we can't criticise the directors who are responsible for the running of the club
OK, we all know they pulled the club back from the abyss and we are thankful of that fact but in my opinion they need to start putting their foot on the acelerator more than they have been doing and sorting the playing side out.
This team is short of one probably two centre halves, get them and I think we have a good chance of making the play offs or even automatic promotion.
Without a bit of investment we are going to be mid-table again and next season the crowd will be a little less than this season.
I am starting to think that the directors don't want promotion until they have got the club paying for itself.
In the mean time the supporters are drifting away.

a guy sat in a dressing room who is a centre half who is a born leader who is coming to the end of his career who cannot get into the first team at the club he is currently at and would jump at the chance of playing first team football 'when required' at the WELL and would add extra guidance and motivation to the present young Barnsley squad
