I like the look of: 7.40 Westerly 8.10 Telemeyd 8.40 Lockhart First two are for the in-form Haggas stable, and Mark Johnston's newcomer looks interestinh in the 8.40 against some fairly ordinary looking maidens. I think the other races are tricky! Good Luck P72!
Was at Beverley when it ran and backed it, held up and finished well although had too much to do with front 2, that was over 7f its a mile today a distance which he has won at before a few times. If I were going tonight I`d be backing it e/w.
Didn't get much luck. Only 1 winner all night, Bold Captain in penultimate race. 7/1 though so it at least paid for the night. It was scorchio for first couple of hours, good night had by all.
Gonna go more often. We went in the enclosure, right on the finish post, big screen behind us. 6 quid in for 3 hours entertainment.
Beverley is £5 each and a fiver for car, if you want to take it in, on inside of course with views on winning line and big screen behing yer. Get all yer ale, snap and deckchairs int car and get parked up against running rail, if yer early enough. Great day out when weather is favourable.
The inquest! Westerly: Disappointing - didn't build on previous efforts. Telmeyd: A good winner and a young sprinter to follow. Lockhart: Very good first effort to finish fourth, and a horse to follow. Will have no trouble picking up a maiden on it's next run. Now then! 5.00 Pontefract today. A race with an interesting betting shape! Horses 1-5: all national hunt horses trying to pick up easy money on the flat. No chance. Horse 6: Finished last of eight on both outings. No chance. That's 60% of the field gone already! Nancy From Nairobi is way top-rated, but she is still a maiden after four outings and her rating is boosted by running down the field in Group races. Pas De Cheval is respected, coming from the in-form Sir Michael Stoute stable, but didn't set the world alight on his debut. MAWASEEL and MIZZOU are phenomenally well-bred. Paul Hanagan (retained rider for Hamdan Al Makhtoum) and James Doyle (retained rider for Khaled Abdulla) turn up for these two. True, Mawaseel hasn't really blossomed in three races so far, but he surely will at some point. Mizzou cost £275,000 as a yearling, and ran with promise on debut. At 20/1 and 3/1 you can manipulate the stakes to get slightly better than 9/4 on the two combined, whichever wins. That represents about a 30% chance, whereas I'd say the chance of one of these two winning against a false-priced (purely my opinion) odds-on favourite is somewhat greater than that.
