why don't you put a news story on the official website encouraging some of your unique users to visit this site and sign up to the "Coca Cola win a player" automated daily entry service. Surely we'd like to do all we can to maximise our chances? Just an idea. You know it makes sense.
Who Rob? I should not speculate as I am trying to be nice to him to get more publicity for a common goal. But probably
Rob's reply <p class="MsoNormal"><font size="3" face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> Coca Cola have strongly advised Barnsley Football Club not to have anything whatsoever to do with the automated ‘Win A Player’ voting and we should not publicise it in any way.<o /></span></font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><font size="3" face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><o> </o>Furthermore, should anyone have any questions in the future can they please e-mail website@barnsleyfc.co.uk. <o /></span></font></p>
It was not a question it was a suggestion But I can see where they are coming from. I bet no-one else is using automation though... Does that mean that they will turn the money down if they win as as a result of the authomated voting, we are miles higher than we would have been.
RE: Rob's reply Not surprised - I thought when someone mentioned it that the club wouldn't want to get involved in that as it might contravene some regulations in the competition.
RE: Rob's reply Has Rob grassed it up then?</p> Would it have been a better idea to look through the T&C's without going directly to Coca Cola?</p> Reading the e-mail it does look like he contacted them to say Can I advertise the fact that an un official Barnsley Bulletin Board are automatically voting through all their members. Coca Cola then say no and Rob looks like he asked and was doing us a favour.</p> I may be wrong like.</p>
Have no doubt its been typed as we speak. Something along the lines of 'All Barnsley votes so far are null and void'</p>
RE: Rob's reply Perhaps its just a general statement from Coca-Cola to all the clubs that they should not publicise any automated entering scripts….I'm sure they'd know it can be done and probably is done.
Why should it be a problem? All it means is 700+ votes are added in one go instead of all the 700+ people having to log on seperately every day. Why should that be classed as doing anything wrong?
RE: Why should it be a problem? probably because those 700 people are not being exposed to Coca Cola's advertising
Ive got an idea we tell them that if they stop our "automatic entry thing" we will all drink pepsi and never touch coke again.
There is a link to join automated entry on official Brentford site. No issue with Coca Cola apparently.</p> Read into that what you will!</p>
