    Warning........Potential sensible post alert..............

My 7 year old came home from school today wi a brand new Kettering shirt and free tickets for me and him to their match a week tomorrow (we live in Kettering, incase that seems weird).
A group of their players have been going round the schools giving a presentation to the kids and giving everyone a shirt and a coupla free tickets. Now, OK, that may only be £15 worth of tickets, but the shirts are £30 too. But every kid went home talking about Kettering FC, they run coaching courses every school holiday and are "out their" in the locality. They are creating enthusiasm amongst the young uns who will be the paying customers in future years when hopefully Kettering are rising up the league, they have won their first 7 games and are well clear at the top of the Conf North.

WHY CAN'T WE RUN INITIATIVES LIKE THIS?

or even just think along these lines instead of thinking it's a given that "they'll just keep coming"

As a teacher, I have tried and tried to get 'my children' interested and aware of the joys of supporting their local, community team - BFC. It is an uphill battle,, I assure you. I hope and pray that the current management structure will allow, and be aware of, the enormous and unfulfulled and untapped potential of support available to us with the right marketing mentality. We desperately need a second generation of fans. I hope and pray ,once again, that the new management will be working on, at least, a year by year, 10 year plan , to bring new supporters in to our club. YoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooReds!

    Great Work By Kettering

It's all about getting the club in the blood from a early age, before the big clubs get noticed. For a none league team, they are spending a lot money.
