If anyone on my contacts gets a zip file from me - please just delete it There its a virus - you get a message telling you you are in the picture but its not I cant believe I just fell from it but unfortunately I got it from a contact who often sends me pics so I clicked without thinking The message is something like - Hi is this you in the picture and there is a zip file attached Picture_album2007.zip (with a file called DSC515607.jpg-www.photobucket.com inside) Also anyone know how to get rid - AVG doesnt catch it
i bloody well got that too mate and im non the wiser on getting rid of it, so any help from anyone also needed here, Ive stoped using msn now and making do with windows messenger considering formating the hard drive but that is a lot of work as i have a lot of stuff on there i would like to keep
Just emailled AVG support I'm on a work PC with a professional subscription so get technical support Hopefully they will come back with a solution once they figure it out Will let you know if they do
Me and Cazi and some others had it last year, AVG found iton mine ok, maybe the virus been improved(for want of a better word)..
btw it sends it to all the names in your friends list... (cryin)

Here is the bugger At least this is the one I have http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2007-081000-2334-99&tabid=1 Brand new - appeared yesterday and only Semantec have a fix so far. I havent got there software so waiting a bit to see if AVG can get their act together as I always feel a bit jumpy editing the registry Otherwise the manual detetion instructions look OK - you need to search the registry for the files though as they arent in exactly the same directory as listed
so which bit of the files should i search for? obviously cant trawl through the whole thing, any ideas? they arent in the same directory on mine as you say
had no look with that installed a older version of msn (not windows live) so fairly old, seems to be okay, think ill stick with that and get around to formatting the hard drive at some point, overdue i did it anyway, leaving windows to its own devices for too long is ill advised in my book!
