I am puzzled as to why Savage got carried off though?

I dunno, I think he just about deserved his second yellow. His foot was very high and went in hard, he could have took someones leg off if he'd a made contact.

Savage looked asif he was holding his chest aswell...so probably just winded.

Ferdinand was **** though. Deserved a yellow card for that header in front of Van de Sar

I don't like him.  Overrated and shouldn't go to world cup.

I had this argument with my eldest last night but you could actually see the stud mark about six to eight inches above below his knee on the tv pictures as he was dumped, sorry, lifted onto the stretcher. He's still an arrogant overpaid wuss though!

Three players all went into a tackle with studs showing. How come only the one wearing a red shirt got booked?

So did I. How come Ferdinand got booked for the second one and Savage didn't? Looked 50/50 to me

By the rules, surely its a red?

First yellow: Freekick already given. Right infront of the ref, Ferdy nudges Pedersen to the ground. Sure, its soft, but by the rules, thats a booking.

Second yellow: Ferdinand's challenge is chest high if someone's running straight onto it. He's gone studs-up, and hit Savage's knee. Three of them went with high feet, only one of them made contact, that was Ferdy.

Harsh, but by the rules, Id have said it looks like a red.

He deserved one for that header anyway. :)
