It was a better game. Especially our attacking which looked like scoring and actually did score.

Still work to be done, but much more positive.

A better ref today may have seen us win that.

We at least created chances first half. Definitely looking better. A point doesn't help us much at the moment, but most of the teams above the drop zone lost, other than Hull / Reading, who drew. Morris back fit was the big plus point. Gomes bossed it first half, but was wasteful second half IMO. There is a mountain to climb, that is for sure. It was bloody cold & wet. Still not warmed up!

First half was an entertaining half but second kind of died off for me. Particularly at the end. I wanted the 2 teams to go for the win but both sides seemed content with a point.

I thought our build up play was decent but we never really tested their goalie, just had a couple of flashes across the goal. Hopefully we can become more of a threat collectively soon enough.

Hopefully it sank in today that he has to grow up, he's playing mans football now where what he does (or doesn't do) matters. He's not playing training games any more.

Yes, the lad has talent. He wouldn't be at Citeh otherwise. Time to show us what he is capable of on a regular basis. At times today he did that. We need to give him some regular starts. Benson has been too inconsistent & weak. If we played 3 in midfield he may look better, with Palmer & Gomez doing the donkey work. Not sure why we are still playing 3 up top. Iseka was poor today & Cauley never troubled their back line at all. Morris was a man mountain though running at defenders & holding the ball up well.

It was indeed a much improved performance and it was nice to see us putting the opposition on the Back foot for periods of the game. Morris scoring his first and looking like he’s getting back to his best. Need to stop that allowing the opposition running straight down the centre of midfield at us it happened quite a few times today. In reality though, we’ve not beaten a very mediocre team at home. 2 games unbeaten so let’s take that as a positive into the Preston game.

With a bit more concentration and thought, he could easily have changed a 5 game into a 7 or 8.

I thought we looked far better organised today. More joined up with each player knowing their respective roles. We had more attacking intent and were a good match for the opposition. They didn't look a top ten side. We didn't look like a bottom 3 side.
All in all a good game. A good local derby.
Someone in this thread called Morris a man mountain. For sure he is. My god we've missed him. Leading the line, winning headers, tackling back, incisive running, excellent dribbling and passing. What a player.
V encouraging today and well done Poya and team for showing progress in only your third game.
    COME. ON.

He was a 7 first half, dropped to a 4/5 second.

It was me that called him a man mountain. The best all round striker we have had in the best part of a decade. I just hope he can avoid injury, as he is our only real chance of staying up this season. Was surprised Cole wasn't put on TBH. The game was stretched & fragmented & he would have been more effective than Vic. I have to give Poya credit today that we did play some great football first half, against a good Huddersfield team.

Correct about stoppi g the opposition midfield been given too much time and space. We often win the ball only to fanny about and give it back to the opposition. Benson is too lightweight to tough tackle in midfield and Palmer looks tired after half time. I would like to see Hondermark given as chance as he looks like he knows how to tackle a bit.ike Victor but he has the touch and pace of a cart horse. I though Cole would have been the better option plus of course Oulare has gone to ground again.

I'm not seeing any improvement to speak of. It was a horrible game to watch. We were woeful at passing, and we're still trying to unlock teams by slowly passing through the eye of a needle. It's without doubt the worst football I've seen in 40 + years of watching. Is this how far we have sunk, that people can actually take comfort from that performance? To me it was more of the same clueless, uninventive rubbish. It was enough to make me think that nothing has changed and we are just crap. I can't face going again. By a quirk of fortune I have booked concert tickets on the night we play WBA. It's the best bit of luck I've had this week. I came away feeling like I've just ended a long term relationship.

I thought he was everywhere today and hopefully we can find someone to play alongside him that makes things happen.

There was a marked change in the attitudes of the players today ,
There was an urgency and a desire that’s been missing for most of the season .
There was misplaced passes and wasteful possession but there was a desire today IMO and credit where credit is due .
I’m more happy with the attitude today than recent games and I’m surprised you couldn’t see that tbh .
Still along way to go and lots of improvement needed but at least they seemed to care today IMO .
